ask a 2-year old a question.

I love to ask the Grands a question, then just keep my mouth shut and hear their perspectives. God truly blesses us when we practice listening :) I wasn't there to hear this one, but last night 2 year old Emily was asked the names of her family members. They are as follows :)
  • Daddy
  • Mommy
  • Katherine's Rosie aka Katherine Rose
  • Willy Boy aka William Arthur
  • Julliana Grapes aka Julliana Grace
  • Lizzy Beth aka Elizabeth
  • Emma Diddles aka Emily Christine
  • Mackey Doh-Doh aka Makenna Elise
:) ahhh, life is good!

it's a good day when you're tired

Ever been tired? I mean really tired, utterly tired, so tired you fall asleep in your painting clothes, or gardening clothes, or your what ever clothes.... you get the point.  A productive day can be an exhausting day, but it is a good day.  Give me a busy day any day over an non productive jelly roll type of day. I am blessed with work! Life is good and I am tired :)
Tomorrow we're off to my good friend T. F.'s house to help her with her yard work. That crazy lady's idea of a break from painting is to haul rocks in her wheel barrow. Girl you amaze me!

God is so thorough!

I had a problem, brought it to the Lord, he sent no fewer than 9 people with the answer! One I hadn't talked to in 30 years, another I hadn't talked to in 17 years. 5 were in  3 different states across the country. 4 are in my life, none of the 9 knew what was going on inside my head. God did though, he was the only one I told. God is thorough!! I'm sorry God it took 9 people for me to get the message! I'll try to pay better attention to you next time and less attention to my head.Thank you Lord. :) [I know that adds up to more than 9, but some of them fit in more than one category. Trust me, there are 9 ;)]
Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

awol

I've been awol for awhile, I've had a house full of little bodies that make a joyful noise and am enjoying every minute of it with them while they're here :)  Yesterdays agenda:
  • Woke up to hear them playing
  • Fed them homemade cereal with homemade coconut milk
  • Listened to happy voices all through breakfast
  • Watched/listened to all the kids running and playing in the back yard play area (swings, fort, sand, teeter totter)
  • Cleaned them up
  • Took them to Denny's where they could each pick a $2 entre and $2 dessert (I found a salad and a bowl of grapes for $2! skipped the dessert :)
  • Put the two littlest down for a nap in care of "Auntie". Big brother wanted to sit in a chair and watch the new puppies. The older two Grand Girls and I headed to the store and did some quick shopping for some special surprises.... (What little girl doesn't love getting all new underwear and socks?!)
  • Visited my son in law at his work and watched as the two girls beamed with pride at being able to visit their Hero :)
  • Went back home where the youngest pinched her finger in the potty chair... sat on it with her finger under the brim... whisked her up and tended her tears, and took her to the store to get the right size of her special surprise ;)  (Oops!)
  • Came back home, gave them bubble baths.
  •  Fixed dinner of home made BBQ beans. (They LOVED them)  awwwe (beaming with happiness at pleasing these wonderful babes)
  • Off to Doctrine's class at church.
  • Home again to pull all the mattresses into the living room and watch "Song of the South" as they fall asleep at Camp Pa-Poh & Grammy!
I slept in today, they were up at the usual time even though they were awake so late. Breakfast has been served and consumed and I'm now listening to them play. I have a whole passel of pirates in the back yard! Have I told you lately that I LOVE my life!  Thank you Lord! I'll never understand how it is that you decided to bless me with the life I have, I don't deserve it, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Oh Yeah, LOVE it when the Grands are here!

Psalm 127:3-5 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.  As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them...

give a boy a coloring book....

I gave my grandson a cowboy coloring book and a tub of crayons and this is his masterpiece...
I adore having the Grands over. They have such a unique and refreshing perspective for life! After I took this picture he asked his sisters if they wanted to knock it down so they could use them. He's always thinking of the girls in his life.
I've had several busy bees around here, "Grammy do you need help?" "Grammy is there anything I can do?" Today Grandgirl 2 scampered around just out of site, first wiping down the kitchen table, after that sorting hers and her siblings clothes into neat piles, then making the nursery bed, next she picked up the exceedingly large amount of blocks on the living room floor so her brother wouldn't have to do it... my heart is blessed :D!!!

it's alive! :)

These are my "before" shots. The Hubs bought this trunk for me from the Thrift store for $10. (See blog post: http://organizedheart.blogspot.com/2012/03/blog-post.html)  He said he agonized over the decision, would it be a "blessing" or a "burden"?  A BLESSING! :)  Thanks Hubby!

Invested another $12 in sand paper of various grits, battled with the laminate for a couple of hours (weapon of choice and convenience? an old paint scraper) I pulled out the tung oil from the cabinet,
 and...
 Yipee!  It's alive!
Just waiting now on some new handles and some feet of sorts to bring it up to coffee table height!

it's a good day when the Grands are here!

I've had the Grands here all day today. What fun! We watched an old movie, colored pictures, built houses with blocks, played in the sunshine and went to the Dollar Tree (new coloring books all around!) As I go to sleep tonight I'm richer by:
  • one hand beaded bracelet
  • 6 coloring masterpieces
  • a piece of gum
  • 17 cents (a gift from my Grandson, his loose change from his pocket)
  • 2 "wild flower" bouquets
  • and a thousand smiles

And now? Grandson and the Hubs are playing Battle Masters: The carnage is immense!
