Watching God work

Today has been an amazing day. We had a work day at a friends house today. She said goodbye to her husband two weeks ago. He made his final journey when he went home unexpectedly to be with his Lord and Saviour. He moved into his own mansion in the sky after meeting his Saviour face to face. It's hard to be sad when your friend has gone somewhere you look forward to being someday yourself, but its easy to be sad when you look around and that someone is no longer there. It can also become overwhelming when you see the work undone that you no longer have that help to accomplish.
Today was not a day for sadness, it was not a day for being overwhelmed, it was a day for amazement. God was at work. People came from places unknown and unexpected to work together to help the family accomplish things that would have been difficult without the man of the house at home. We tore down goat pens, a chicken coup, a dog pen, and even a pig habitat and rebuilt them all in a streamlined fashion using donated materials so that it would be easier to care for the animals. A garden was pared down and simplified, scrap metal was turned into cash, and horse corrals were reorganized. But that's not what was amazing. What was amazing was that all this happened when complete strangers with a common thread came together. The common thread was that they all were instruments of God. We had people of various talents and ages gather together, each doing what they knew best, all working together with a happy heart to "Git'er Done!" What an incredible blessing to be a part of it all!! Many thanks to everyone who was a part of it. Thank you Lord for allowing me to be a part of it as well. It was a blessing of inexpressible measure.
